I’ve been thinking back to the relegation year and the escape the season before that and it seems like some of the biggest problems were
No true left back, then Junior who wasn’t very good at the time.
No midfield outside of Kalvin. I remember being thankful for Forshaw coming back from his two year injury or whatever it was.
Very few people in the team being in their prime years. I think it was Phil who wrote a piece showing that it looked like they went for high upside younger players hoping that they could hang on initially and then be set once they entered their prime.
The midfield appears to much deeper now and everyone they’ve brought in is in their mid-late 20’s with experience in a top league.
ETA: I have to think Harrison is gone either way. If the idea is to make LW one of the biggest spends I can see them wanting Largie to play full time somewhere so that he’s ready when that LW moves on fairly quickly. Then backfill a cheaper depth option in Jack’s place.

Props to the 49ers - they seem to be quietly efficient haha. Recruitef well last year imo and things appear to be going pretty well so far this offseason. Glad we’re getting a lot of these pieces in relatively early as well, vs. at the last minute.
Hopefully we get Paixo and Muniz over the line and don’t lose anyone unexpectedly.

Folks reporting that Leeds have made an official offer for Paixo and that things are progressing quickly.
Looking likely that he is going to be playing at Elland Road next year lads, French club was to poor to get the fee together.
