What a shitty day this was lads. I would be in a rage if I could force myself to care about what happened in Oxford.

My wife told me Saturday night that I used to get more upset when LSU lost like that, had to let her know I had already moved through all the stages of bummed out by 9AM thanks to Leeds getting their arse kicked.

She is still confused why I like a team I have no ties to, never visited, etc.

I had no good answer other than I’m a gluten for punishment, see LSU football in the 90’s when my fandom really started as a young fella.

As championship seasons go, at what point do we start to get concerned that Leicester and Ipswich are just going to run away and hide from everyone else looking for promotion? Having to go through the playoff is better than nothing but I sure would like to not have to worry about it. I know there’s a ton of games and time left, but do we have to get back within striking distance by say, Christmas, to have a shot of tracking them down in the Spring?

I think I remember Phil or someone on a podcast mentioning not really knowing a lot or state of the table not being a big concern until around that time. But they did have the caveat of not wanting to be completely out of touch by that point either.

You never know sometimes. I think Leicester will actually piss the league. The likes of ipswich and Preston should come back to earth a little. In Bielsa’s first season we looked like a lock from day 1 up to about Easter. Then Sheffield United came out of nowhere in like march. February/March for me is when it really starts to shape up kinda like the relegation picture in the premier league.

I remember this past year Sunderland was being written off then went on a run late in the season to make the playoffs.

So I guess it is kind of like baseball in that way, team could get hot last couple months of the year make playoffs and then who knows at that point.

Yea there’s always a team that comes out of nowhere

Villa in 18/19 got hot and won the playoff

Brentford the following season when we went up almost caught west brom before losing to Fulham at wembley

Forest the year after

Sunderland and Luton last season

If Leeds win these next two matches which they have the talent to do so, then this past weekend is written off to one of those games that happens.

I don’t think tFoxes can continue this run of form all year. Eventually injuries or just a downturn in play will happen. Just not sure how long that run will last for them.

Still feels like our season just started after the window closed, so to me we are 2-2-1 on the real year so far. And really I wouldn’t count Wednesday in that since most of the guys had not trained together long. So 2-1-1 on the year IMO, lots of matches to go yet.

Looking at the past automatic promotion teams from 2004 runners up had an average of 88 points and winners had 93

Works out to around 2 points per match. If we are sitting around 50 points in December that should set us up good for the remainder of the season.

Having said that we are going to need to have a pretty good stretch coming up in order to hit those numbers.

Farke thinks QPR have a better squad than their league position suggests. "I expect they're a team who are difficult to play against. That's why they've conceded just one goal in their last three away games. What will be crucial is that we're effective in finishing positions."

Okay Daniel, please do not start Dan James after making these comments.

To be fair James is brutal to watch when finishing for the most part

Some of these reporters and podcast guys piss me off with their sentimental bullshite. Before the game last week a lot of them said “well I don’t see how you bring Rodon back in for Cooper after the performance against Watford”, and “Dan James has 4 assists you can’t take him out”.

Well of course you can put Rodon ahead of Cooper, he was ahead of him before the bogus red card suspension while the defense was solid, so you put him back where he was before that. James’ assists have been while teams were chasing the game and he was able to be set off on counters. I think even two of those were when he was a sub, one of which he recorded by literally tripping over his feet trying to get a shot off.

Then after the game they say “Did Farke get it wrong with Cooper?”. Well yeah he did. I think it was Popey yesterday who now finally says to bring Anthony in, but in place of Summerville and not James. It’s madness.

Im so ready to melt over this

James is the perfect late sub when the defense’s legs have gone. Anthony/Summerville should start especially while Willy is out.

Twitter is saying Tyler is heading back to America for surgery on his same hamstring and is gonna be out 3 months.

For how he forced his way out of the club I don’t feel bad about this, thanks for the break even millions cherries

Anything less than 6 points from these 2 home games would be disappointing
