A long-serving member of City’s backroom team, Wootten will join Farke at Elland Road after he was appointed as head coach at Norwich’s Championship rivals last week.
Wootten is expected to be announced as the replacement for Spaniard Marcos Abad who left his post upon Farke’s arrival last month. He previously worked alongside the German for the entirety of his time as Canaries boss and has latterly served in the backroom teams of Dean Smith and David Wagner.

Does that mean they think they have a chance to keep him? It seems like they wouldn’t risk him even in training if they need to ship him.

Hopefully he’s a guy we can hold on to at least til January. I think we want to at least get back what we paid and that’s keeping some clubs away because of the injuries he’s had but when he’s fit he’s electric
