The Swansea boss does not think the Brazilian's small build will hold him back, pointing to the success of Messi, but is concerned he may struggle adapt to the European game.

"Everyone is looking forward to seeing him in Europe at the highest level, but I'm not sure whether his small size will be a factor. “Without wishing to compare him to anyone else, Lionel Messi [at 5ft 7in] is not the biggest player in size and we have all seen what he has done.”

somebody posted an analysis last year that basically said in brazil they like to play their back lines back/off, which gives him plenty of space to go all and1 out there. i'm curious if that's what laudrup is referencing
with the service he will get at barca, i think he'll get every opportunity to score/facilitate goals, though

He has to become more efficient with his touches. Bar a desperately need someone to make runs and give room for Messi and Xavi. He should aim to become the player at the end of runs, and not continually ask for the ball to come to his feet.

I don't think his size will hold him back, but it's more about how skinny he is IMO, not his height. Messi's short but is a good bit stronger/harder to knock off the ball.

I had a long post about that on this board before. One of the reasons Dunga was so widely disliked among Brazilians.
