When you say "authentic" are you talking "true" authentics (i.e. heat pressed logo patches... MLS authentics have the "fuzzy" Lextra MLS patch and sleeve US flag) or do you mean "not a knockoff?"
Yeah, these are legit. They are just the models from last season. I am pretty sure that Ross just buys the leftover stock from more expensive stores that generally carry new merchandise. They have the tag from Adidas (Galaxy) or Nike (USMNT) that say $70 on them. The two I bought are jerseys with no names or numbers.
As far as paying for numbering goes, what is a reasonable price for a good job? I bought a red USMNT Landon Donovan kit with the sash from Ebay for $35 (UASports actually linked it, thanks), but the name and numbers on back have started to peel. I have worn it a decent amount, but washed it on delicate and owned it for under a year. Is this a common issue? How do I avoid this in the future?
There is a soccer shop pretty close to my house that would do it for $30, and I would be willing to pay if I know that the numbers will stay on. Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

Where is the Ross in New Orleans located? Planning on being there tomorrow.

Two things to clarify:
There is a difference between "MLS replica" and "MLS authentic."
For example... a DC United replica will have sewn on DCU logo, sewn adidas logo, heat-pressed VW logo and a sewn on MLS patch on the sleeve. This typically retails for $70. (This is the Galaxy shirt I purchased at Ross...)
DCU Replica
An MLS Authentic will feature a lot of little features that a replica doesn't. My Chicago Fire and NYRB authentics, for example, have a band of elastic (essentially) along the bottom to keep the jersey from riding up. The adidas logos are rubberized instead of sewn. The MLS patch is made of Lextra, and there is a Lextra flag on the opposite sleeve.
Lextra Flag:
Authentics will also have stars above the crest, vents on the side, etc. These retail for $129 (I think.)
DCU Authentic
That's why I asked if you guys found replicas or authentics.

Wash as infrequently as possible. When you do wash, wash on delicate, and INSIDE OUT. Dry minimally (5-10 minutes.)
If you can, wash them by hand, INSIDE OUT, with a little Woolite and throw them in the dryer with some towels for a few minutes.
As a side note, this method doesn't work when you puke Arrogant Bastard Ale and Mahi Mahi all over the front of a baby blue Rapids jersey. I can tell you that from experience.

Mine is Authentic. It's got all of that stuff, and it even says "Authentic Competition Product" on the inside side of that elastic at the bottom. Sewn on patches, and even has the cool "We Are One" and the team's motto on the collar. (Don't know if a replica would have those.)
Retail price says $119.99. I still have the tags on it.

Yeah, the Galaxy one is a replica. You described it perfectly. It does have a cool little rubberized Adidas logo at the bottom as well.
My USMNT Nike jerseys has a tag that says "AUTHENTIC" on the bottom left corner. I have the red one with Donovan and the blue with no name yet. The same jersey is pictured below. I am sure you would be able to tell whether it is authentic or a replica, but it does say authentic, so I assume the Nike sweatshops are telling me the truth.
Thanks for the washing advice. I will make sure to only have them washed inside out from now on. I did only wash them when necessary, but I figured less cycles would help the numbers have a longer shelf life.
Thanks again.

If the US kits have a heat pressed patch on them = Authentic. If they are sewned on = Replica.
The new ones even if they are Replica, they have an authentic tag on the bottom.
Also on the new US kits. the authentic ones have lil vents under the arm

Just meaning that it's an Authentic Nike jersey, I guess.
It doesn't mean it's an Authentic player issued jersey.

Was more of a general question to the board. Just replied to your post.

I've been looking randomly for about a year at Ross stores. The collection here isn't that good. :-(

My mom said she once saw a Juventus t-shirt there and I saw a Celtic shirt there as well.
Most of the stuff they have is what I would never wear (Man U/Barca/Mexico). However, it is worth a look for cheap replica jerseys.
ETA: This is for Marietta, GA, FWIW.

FYI, anything from from where I-55 hits I-10 all the way to Slidell constitutes "New Orleans" to me.

Went to my local Ross. In my size they had San Jose home, Egypt, Tunisia, Inter Milan home, and a Barca practice shirt.
I didn't end up buying any because they were all $30 and I didn't care for them. Except the San Jose was $20, but I'm not gonna be a walking billboard for a cult like Amway.

I'd buy the shite out of an Egypt shirt.

I would have, but the jersey itself was retarded. I've never seen Puma jerseys like these (the Tunisia one was like it, too). The sleeves were mesh that had HUGE holes. Looked like something Jose Canseco would wear. Not something I would just wear around.
