Mexico have had better players than him before and we've beaten them, so lets calm down for a second.
This isn’t the issue.
The issue is that a possible quality player is leaving the pool dropping the competition of the CM spot in our team. Countries like Germany/Spain, etc. are so good because they are 2-3 guys deep everywhere which forces a lot of guys to continually improve.
Bradley, Jozy, and a lot of our team that choked on a dick in Trinidad haven’t had that in some time. That is why they suck arse and why we may suck arse in the forseeable future

You don’t even want Liverpool to win every match so we know you are not competitive

I've already shown that we have at least 4 guys competing for that position right now between the ages of 18-22. Can add more if you want to add someone like Russell Canouse.

Exactly the more depth and competition for spots the better
Saying bullshite like we have other guys will get us back in the situation we are in now.

And, we need more players competing for spots
This kid is the class of the bunch right now at CM

Not exactly. 2 totally different situations.

One of the other guys has been starting for the 2nd best team in Germany (according to the current table).

Ok. I’ve calmed down now. The five stages of grief are over.
If there’s any consolation, at least Center midfield is a position we look to have considerable depth for the future. Still hurts to lose him, though. If we ever want to be a power in this sport, we can’t keep letting this happen. I hope the new president will have a strategy to keep our youth prospects with the US in the future. Any kids who have dual-citizenship with Mexico should be given the highest priority.
I am a bit worried about how Durkin will develop at DC. I don’t think the style Ben Olsen coaches is conducive to development for his type of player, but we’ll see. Let’s hope he gets his chance to shine and maybe he’ll be in the Bundesliga at 18.
Speaking of young midfielders, what has Zelalem been up to? I haven’t heard about him in a while. Really fallen off a cliff the last 18 months. Is he heading towards bust territory?

When potentially loosing the best CM in our pool is a huge situation. To say o we have other guys is pretty much saying everything is fine when your hair is on fire.

Dude’s knee exploded awhile back. Don’t think he’s recovered yet.
RIP Joe Gyau

Recovering from a torn ACL has hampered his playing time.

The would be a great midfield paring
I’d say Gonzalez is more influential to his club right now and is asked to do more when you watch both play.

Oh, damn. I’m sorry to hear that. He seemed so promising 2 years ago.
He and Joe Gyau are perfect examples of how injuries can completely derail young careers. Same thing happened to Mark Pelosi who was making great progress at Liverpool before the broken leg. Now he barely gets time for the San Jose Earthquakes.

That would be the case if we were losing Sargent. Because we have considerable depth in his age group is why it's not as huge of a loss as it would be if he played another position.
Don't get me wrong, this still sucks, but it's far from the end of the world.

Well, yeah. But I don't think I'd be a stretch to say Schalke is a bigger club.

I also think you are underestimating how good Tyler Adams is.
Posted on 1/8/18 at 11:27 am to pvilleguru
I would put Adams, Gonzalez, and McKennie all on the same tier right now.
Posted on 1/8/18 at 11:28 am to pvilleguru
Weren’t some big European teams looking at Adams?
Thought I heard something about Roma.
