How does the Soccer Board feel about old superstars joining the MLS these days?

I used to be all for it, but after Pirlo, Lampard, and Gerrard I'm over it. It's cool to see world class players in America, but It's a bad look for the league. Zlatan is obviously an exception. Fernando Torres looks like he's coming here soon, thats why I bring it up. MLS doesn't need this anymore.

Overblown. It’s not happening at nearly the same rate it used to... the league is getting more big names that actually play and care about playing instead of expensive wastes.
Just look at the recent DP signings and tell me how many old superstars are on there.

I know MLS is signing younger players and that's great. If every MLS team goes about the way ATL does, this league would be awesome. Sadly, people who don't follow MLS only see the old guys coming, cuz that is was makes national news.

Well, yeah. Bigger names are going to make bigger headlines. That’s true in any league.

It’s not just Atlanta, though. 8 of the 17 DPs signed in 2018 are younger than 23. Several more are younger than 30 and have some good miles left.
The only old European guys who have signed big deals in the last three seasons are BWP, Schweinsteiger and Zlatan. All three of those dudes can ball. And you’re seeing a lot more young DPs than old ones.

Based on the last match vs ATL, David Villa can still play.

I think torres might be a good fit for MLS. Its pretty clear he really wants to keep playing and has a chip on his shoulder.
You just never know. Like with any signing. I thought ashley cole was gonna be a huge bust, but hes made an impact.
