They lost the first leg of the relegation playoff to Fortuna Düsseldorf 2-1. At HOME.

Second leg is in Düsseldorf. Capital city on the verge of once again not having a top-flight team.

Third from bottom in top flight plays third place from second division home and away. Two spots change automatically.

I watched this game today and Berlin dominated the first hour with Dusseldorf not even threatening. A Dusseldorf forward had a sweet run through shoddy D for their first goal and then a bad own goal shortly after.

I took note of this recently, why does Berlin not have an even remotely competitive team? Not even at any point in the last few decades. It's amazing, I can't think of any other major city anywhere in the sports world without a team that was good at some point like this city seemingly is.

Berlin was a dilapidated ghost town full of bohemians and same sex life partners until the Japanese came in.

Anyone watching the 2nd leg on GolTV right now? Dusseldorf scored 25 seconds in and Hertha leveled in the 22nd. Hertha trailing 3-2 on aggregate at the half currently.

Assuming away goals are in play here but either way, one more goal for Hertha potentially brings extra time and PKs into play.

Hoping Hertha can pull this off and stay up.

gotta love a mass pitch invasion. They paused for like two minutes after Hertha tied it to bring the riot police in earlier.

Should still be another minute to play.
