New North American women's soccer league announcement tomorrow—includes officials from US, Canada and Mexico federations. Interesting.

They don't.
They go tits up within 3 years. The only reason that the WNBA is still around is that they're heavily subsidized by the NBA. MLS, SUM and/or US Soccer don't have that kind of money.
I'm sure this new venture will suffer the same fate, unless they are actively pursuing co-branding/co-occupancy agreements with existing clubs.

They should just stick to a Euro Women's league, subsidized by the top 20-30 Men's teams around Europe. Maybe they could actually challenge the Lady Gunners for once.

Alex Morgan, Hope Solo, Megan Rapinoe, and Sydney Leroux all play for Sounders Women. That's arguably the top four of the USWNT's biggest stars.
Will this new league have enough financial power to woo them? Can a league like this survive without stars like these?

I'm not sure if the Sounders Women are a pro team or a semi-pro team. That would make a big difference...
ETA: Sounders Women are semi-pro. I'm sure my soccer goddess and the insane goalkeeper will jump to a pro team.

The big-name American women make far more in marketing opportunities than they do in salary.
I don't know if being the "face" of the Sounders isn't a better vehicle for that than being the face of the financially failing "Tampa/St. Pete $19.99 VOIP Telephone Computer Thingies."

Obviously, pro women's soccer is not a financially solvent venture, but I think all the teams should be located close together to cut down on travel costs.
