So, I understand the structure of MLS was aggressive to expedite a growth, and protect the investors. However, salary caps and contracts Etc mixed no relg...is that the long term plan?

I feel the NFL model that they seem to quasi be following... Is dependent on monopolizing a sport which obviously want happen.

Winning/consistently challenging for concacaf would be nice. And somewhere down the road the club World Cup could be a anticipated tournament maybe?

That said, I'm sure there's a lot I don't know. Is there a long term plan/best case senario for US club soccer?

requiring a $100m investment to buy a franchise tells me that the monopoly (and a lack of relegation) is pretty much a foregone conclusion.

The only possibility is if we end up with 40 or so MLS teams and then break into two divisions. But I think the US mindset about minor leagues will hurt that possibility.
