Assuming he can stay healthy all year, of course.

Gerrard's Role Last Season (2012-13)

A far cry from his old attacking midfield role playing just off the forward, 2012-13 saw Gerrard deployed in a much deeper role. His technical ability and understanding of movement saw him able to pick out passes from in great space.

At least to begin with, it should be more of exactly the same from the captain.

Bleacher Report but ....

A good amount. Since Coutinho's first match played in February of last season, Gerrard has netted 3 times and assisted once in 13 matches. Compare that to the 7 goals and 12 assists the first half of the season before Cou joined.

I'm not just making shite up. I've watched every LFC match Gerrard has played in for years. He is not the offensive threat he has been his entire career.

Also, I found my super break out pick to draft later.

Gerrard's Role Last Season (2012-13)

He had multiple roles. He started the season advanced. Once it was clear he didn't have the fitness or the legs to be fully box-to-box anymore, Rodgers dropped him deeper. This is why Sahin never saw time. Still, in the first half of the season he was in somewhat of an attacking role - after all the only other attacking threat LFC had was Suarez. He got a decent amount of goals and assists because of this. He also put in every corner kick.

Once Coutinho and Sturridge joined, Gerrard was moved into even less of a box-to-box role. He sat as deep as Lucas, who is our defensive midfielder. Go look up his heat maps, they tell the whole story. He dictated play, spreading the ball to the wings and finding Coutinho in the middle. Even his role as designated corner-taker took a hit when Cou joined. His assists and goals dropped dramatically.

You didn't frick it up. He'll get a solid bit of points because he'll play 90 if he's healthy, just not as many due to his new role.

NO! He's a good pick in the third round. I was arguing with Vick who said he was the best value pick of the draft so far, which I disagree with (which is Rooney if you we're curious; maybe Lukaku if Mourinho hands him the reigns).

He did. The whole argument spurred from me saying that Gerrard is a top 20 pick because I think he will score 150 fantasy points this season. He netted 185 points in 12-13.

Thus, a second round pick and a bargain in the mid third round.

Does anyone else second guess every pick they make?

Riskier? Probably. He hasn't played a PL match yet. But he has tremendous upside, particularly if Dzeko starts.

Yeah since poldi has a chance at just being a sub.. but he was half that last year and still put up a ton of points

I also thought was a fricking steal, but I was not going to say I made the best pick of the draft.

I think I am regretting Lamps over Kagawa. We shall see though.

Kagawa would have been better imo. As of now I think I like Bob's squad the best. You will win the league though if Suarez stays and Rooney goes to United.
