Have any of you messed around with free kicks at all?

I played a little bit of the skill games with them and it seems like half the time I do them it's just like previous years (holding up on the left stick and hold b for about 30% power) and it works great....then half the time I'll do the same thing and it just absolutely skies it, sometimes even going off in a different direction. Have no idea what I'm doing differently.

I haven't adjusted the position of my free kick taker at all....is that what the problem is? If so, any insight on how my guy should be set up to the ball?


Was just playing pro clubs with some buddies and it was tied in the 85' and I got a free kick like 3 yards outside the box. In past fifas there would have been about a 70% chance I'd drain it and if not it would be damn close. I fricking launched that shot 20 yards over the post I was so pissed

Some matches Legendary is just like frick you, you're not winning. shite teams with perfect passes and tackles. It's an accomplishment just to not have a shot blocked.

At least the OS sliders are making the game fun in most Legendary matches for me. But, yeah, I had one of those in a quick match against Stoke City.

Yeah, I'd rather it be like that than too easy.

Well I got wrecked in division 8 on FUT. Saw some teams that are much much better than my American squad. Caught a few bad breaks but for the most part just got outclassed. Back to to drawing board. I'm going to try some different formations and custom tactics and see if I have better luck. 4-3-1-2 with 3 CMs was my go to in '16, 4-1-2-1-2 with RM and LM is the best formation, from a positional standpoint, for an American squad and the one I've used in '17 but I may have to sacrifice some pace out wide for a formation that better fits my play style

Been having major probs with scoring off corners. Havent sunk one yet in about 20ish games. Lots of woodwork.

Havent been getting too many scored against me either tho.

I've scored 4 or 5. I usually float it to the center 8-9 yards out. The guys that have scored them against me, most have been driven corners that were flicked on from the near post by the striker. All of mine have been my giant center backs climbing the ladder

On a FUT-note, these squad building challenges are awesome, if youre into trading and stuff.

As long as youre patient, gold player packs are easy to get and there are lots to aquire.

Damn, thats awesome. Some of those repeatable ones give you non-tradable packs, but the "advanced" ones are all good. Looks like theyre gonna rotate the challenges monthly.

Its great becuase now even shitty cards youd normally auto-sell get bought for at least a little more than face value since people are using them for the sbc.
