Agreed. It's gotta be tough being an American journalist, based in Europe (I think?), covering primarily European soccer.

i imagine he probably built his reputation up before joining espnfc. I dont know his career arc but isnt he from milan? Seems to reason he probably has spent most of his life as a european journalist.
Also im pretty sure espnfc is just a side thing for him. I think he lives in london and does something there.

He writes for The Times of London, ESPN, an Italian paper and an Australian one.

I met him when he played for the Dynamo and yeah he would use you being an American to discredit anything that you said. He even said a Hispanic friend of mine didn't know what he was saying because he was born here and had never lived in a Latin American country. The only reason I know he is from Venezuela is because he brought it up 20 times during what turned into an argument.
