First I've heard of this. Not sure if this article was poorly written but it definitely makes it sound like Seattle is not releasing him.

how many matches would he miss for this? i thought he was on the toulan roster anyway, odd they would release him for that but not the real deal

Perhaps he's in line for a Gold Cup call up, and Seattle doesn't want to release him for both.
