we already got it. It'll be officially announced during the MLS all star break or second week of august(not sure the reason behind the august part).

No way MLS was going to miss out on majority female ownership.

no worries. isnt huge news outside of STL because its been pretty hush hush. Plus we're trying to enjoy the open cup ride along with have starters from STL on both mens and womens roster. been a great few months here in the soccer world.

I also want us to try to stay in the east since we can have a good rivalry with Cincy and Atlanta

Thats the big Q that really hasn't been addressed, and my guess is because they dont know even know yet. My guess is the STLFC will be promoted because A) already a name the city is familiar with B) some of the ownership group in charge of bringing a team to st Louis owns the existing team c) STLFC has built an established academy/successful, so no sense in changing anything with that.

back to my original thought. With the Fire moving downtown, and adding a natural rival in St Louis, that should really get that city/club moving.

Do the fire pull enough attendance to pack Soldier field?

Yankee stadium looks god awful now for soccer games
I’m not saying they get bad attendance. It’s around 20-21k for games, but that looks empty in a 50k seat stadium

frickk no. Wait, is soldier field a permit or a temp thing until a new stadium is maybe built? Im not very familiar with the MLS yet, like at all, but even getting 50% of solider full seems hard, right?

I'm not sure. Ian said "better than expected" on 102.5 recently but that's very vague.

I figure their goal is to build where a now vacant hospital sits now but I figure that's pretty far ahead in the future.

Meanwhile Inter Beckham will be playing at a temporary stadium in Fort Lauderdale while he tries to get the Miami location built.

quote:

City commissioners unanimously embraced plans to transform the defunct Lockhart Stadium, off Commercial Boulevard and Northwest 12th Avenue, into a professional soccer center.

Beckham’s ultimate goal is to build his team’s home stadium in Miami, and to use the planned Fort Lauderdale stadium as a training hub for cultivating soccer talent. But for at least the first two seasons, starting next March, Beckham’s new Major League Soccer team, Inter Miami CF, will play in Fort Lauderdale.

“This is a really a wonderful turning point in our community,” Mayor Dean Trantalis said. “Congratulations. We’ll be there for the first kick.”

The 18,000-seat Fort Lauderdale stadium and the 25,000-seat Miami stadium would be about an hour apart, by car.

At least FL is getting a stadium the high schools can play football out of it.
