Hate to break it to you mate, but the USMNT doesn’t play in the EPL.

Thank you for info.
I also root for teams outside the EPL.
How my fandom works.
I look at calander. See what games might be entertaining. Turn on the tv or radio (if I can). And watch it.
I’ve never lived in England or Europe and have no connection to any club over their EPL or otherwise. So not sure why I should be required to pick one and only one.
If I had to guess. There are a lot of people in England that root for their local team as well as cheer on a club in EPL. But again I don’t know. I’ve read articles about houses divided at local derbies. And people switching fandoms.
I don’t lose sleep over it.
The only teams I have a connection to is LSU. And USA So I’ll never stop root for them. And will actively try and watch football and soccer games if them
I live in Portland now. So enjoy cheering on the local teams. From Timbers to blazers down the rugby and ultimate teams. I’ve spent money at all the games to support locally
I personally think it’s strange getting all bent out of shape over someone not picking one team in EPL to root for.
I find it strange people with no personal ties to a team in any league in any sport being such a big fan of said club.
Did I find it strange how many acquaintances bought national championship gear after saban won at lsu. Even thought they had no idea who Geri dinardo was.
Yes
Did I try to be a dick online about it.
No
Don’t really care

No one who follows or supports the club refers to it a MANU

this thinking goes against the entire premise of EPL football.
Pretty sure the premise of EPL is to make money.
Pretty sure they love the amount of money. Nonlocals spend to watch EPL games on TV and buy there jerseys.
I Don’t know. But isn’t tv revenue from foreigners, if not EPL largest income, atleast a big portion of it?
I’ve done neither.

No its to win
If a club by chance breaks even thats a win for everyone.
Only a few clubs actually make a ton of profit

LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
The UK deal with Sky and BT dwarfs any international deal
NBC was getting the EPL on the cheap but had to finally out bid someone and put up more cash

I just did.
Everyone has a different definition of following and rooting for a team.
To me that is rooting and following. Not sure why it’s so upsetting to some.
I’d love to know how many on here educating me on proper fandom watched/followed/cheered while watch the World Cup after their team was knocked out.
I did. Sorry. I’m a shitting fan I guess
I have not yet watched the final yet.

Of all the nonsensical things you posted, this one stands out. ANY EPL team would gladly take a loss to get a major trophy. Exxxcept some with American owners (shocker). See —> Glazer family.
Your entire view of this international game is, painfully American.
You do you though.

Why are you up in a Chelsea thread? Aren’t there WC/USMNT/MLS threads for your type?

So the English football league was about making money and the EPL was created for more wins?
Interesting Did not know that

I follow soccer. I read all the threads. Hope that’s allowed.
I notice people being unfriendly (in my opinion) to a dad that became a fan of a team for reasons other people didn’t agree with.
So I decided to share my own opinion. Didn’t realize it was not allowed

Chelsea =/= Soccer
Secondly, no one is telling anyone how to be a fan. But if you’re referring to OU Guy, he was continually spewing nonsense about playing time and tactics. It was all BS. That kind of stuff is going to get called out.
That’s all I have to say on the matter. I’m sure we won’t be seeing you after we sell CP.
Cheers.

Yeah. Duh. Success brings in more money.
Clubs owned by non local fans just a bunch of lifelong fans not in it for money but for the wins
Arsenal-American
Villa-American and Egyptian.
Bournemouth American
Chelsea American
Palace Americans
Everton Iranian
Fulham Pakistani American
Leeds Italian and American
Leicester Thai
Liverpool American
Man city UAE
Man U American
Newcastle Saudi
Nottingham Forest Greek
Southampton danish
West ham Welch former birmingham city owner and a czeck
Wolves china
Clubs owned by local fan
Brentford
Brighton
Spurs. From west end so may be a local fan. Great at winning though! So I put here
Man I didn’t realize how many local fans owned all these clubs for the wins.
My bad
Again I’m not as big of a fan as y’all so didn’t know this

Multiple people Calling someone a big wanker. Has more AIDS than potter. Punk arse bitch. Aries weird obsession.
In my opinion is unfriendly. If y’all are all friends and this is just friendly trash talking. My bad.
I read it differently
Regardless of his fandom or tactical analysis.
I didn’t like to see it. So I chimed in with my own experience as a fan to ease the tension.
I didn’t name call anyone. Just shared my experience.
And I’m now in a lively discussion. Which I hope is not stressing anyone out. And am learning.
Such as. Foreign investment companies set up to own EPL teams are really in it for the silverware and the money is just kind of like a lucky bonus when it happens.
And I’m getting laughed at
similar to everyone that get into politics for the people. Look how low their salaries are.

Here I was assuming you meant “any EPL owner”. Since you said “except some American owners “
Fan and players want nothing but silverware.
I thought Most Owners are in it for money.
But I may be wrong.
Such as how I was wrong that the EPL did not brake away from the EFL for the money. But for more wins
I need to read more
Posted on 3/30/23 at 4:20 pm to lsugorilla
In addition to forming the EPL specifically for more wins
Why did the fans revolt against the super league?
Wouldn’t that give teams more wins?

No. That was a money grab. Fans saw right through it. It would have been a complete black mark on the integrity of the game.
True football fans have no interest in a bullshite trophy.

That is what I thought.
Very similar to why the EPL was created.
Before I was educated here.
I thought the EPL was specially created to prevent the top clubs from losing income to the lower leagues. As well improve bargaining. And capitalize on tv rights.
Was that not a “money grab”

No, because EPL still has promotion and relegation. This is what brings it legitimacy. Regardless of financial benefits, you still have to win to get a piece of the pie.
Your MLS teams have no consequences for being a terrible club. This is why the rest of the world doesn’t take it seriously.

Thank you for explaining.
Agree promotion and relegation, in my opinion, is part of what’s great about soccer.
Plus tournaments like FA cup that is open to an insane amount of levels of clubs that win to advance.
Their is not voting or “passing the eye test”.
To pick who gets what
It’s all about winning
Also like to 50+1 in Germany.
Yes mls is one giant money grab. And very hard to watch on tv. Still enjoy going to at least one game a year.
Trying to go for the Timbers game against tigres the Mexican team. Hope they bring a crowd to make it more entertaining
I can’t stand the Timbers radio guy. He cheers when the other team scores and gets me all confused.
That’s how bad soccer is that we can’t even get a decent radio guy. But I’ll still follow it.
English football took time to get where it is. While I don’t think mls will ever get there. I will continue to follow with the hope it at least had pro/reg. As much as I doubt it
