Champions League Knockout Performance by League

I did a little number crunching to see what league has performed the best in the Champions League knockout stage since it was expanded to 16 teams in 2004. The point system I used was one point for reaching the knockout and one point for each advancing round. England's dominance peaked in 2008 when only EPL teams knocked out other EPL teams (not quite max points due to the draw).
It has been close to even since 2010 with the score being 20-20-15-14 and no league reaching more than two finals. Germany still has yet to advance more than one team to the quarterfinals, but that streak will likely end today.
Point Totals by Year
Year E S I G
2004 6 7 3 2
2005 10 2 8 4
2006 6 9 7 2
2007 11 4 8 2
2008 14 5 4 2
2009 12 9 3 2
2010 5 5 7 5
2011 9 9 4 4
2012 6 6 4 5
Averages:
England - 8.78
Spain - 6.22
Italy - 5.33
Germany - 3.11

It's a damn shame they use Europa league performances to determine champions leave spots.

I'm hoping the Gunners win, of course. Maybe my pessimism will be a reverse jinx.
