He has 3 goals and 3 assists in two games a year after winning the Golden Boot. If I was starting a team for the future I would look elsewhere but as of today he is the best centre forward in the world.

We've had this discussion before. He is probably the most consistent player in the world week to week and year to year. He is good for 20+ goals and 10+ assists EVERY season and never gets hurt. Fab is the only player one I would consider over him and that's because of age.

Not as good as Lahm.

Debatable. When Ashley is fit and motivated I wouldn't trade him for any left back in the world.

Pique.

Fair.

You put Diego in Chelsea's lineup and he probably puts up identical numbers.

You having to put that qualifier is one of the reasons why I'd take Lahm over him.

Maybe, but that's hypothetical.

Fair enough, but he doesn't get hurt often and has generally been motivated for Chelsea. It's England where he looks like he doesn't care and with the way he's treated by the fans I don't really blame him.

Lampard also takes the majority of penalties for Chelsea which causes an inflated goal scoring output.

You called Iniesta one-dimensional? Dear Lord you are amazing. Did you miss his goal in the final, or against your team of whining bitches? Iniesta is the best ball handler on his national team, the second best passer, and has a decent scoring record for an oft injured player. Xavi also takes free kicks, scores occasionally and provides defensive pressure extremely well in the open field. If you watch Barcelona closely, you will see guys like Messi, Xavi, Iniesta and Busquets swarm the ball when they lose it.

I'm going to start a poll thread to see if our knowledgeable board would build a team around Xavi or Lampard.

Good thing there won't be any bias there.
