Just noticed your Avi War, did you go to this?

Oh yeah. Got a couple of great shots of the thing:

And here's a Vine of people throwing rolls at each other when we were supposed to be paying attention to the cheerleaders: LINK

Pretty sad (because it's the last time, not the event or turnout or anything) just to look at all those pictures.

Here's the thing, though, it wasn't really that sad for all of us. I posted this on Reddit last night...

Had an interesting thought while I was there today: All of the money that the local businesses, the ticket office, area hotels (all were sold out this weekend) and other vendors wouldn't have happened this weekend if the trees were going to live.

We would've had A-Day, and it would've been like every other one we've had.

But today was so incredible, one of the best ever days for Auburn people...and it's all because a lunatic rival fan poisoning the trees because he was upset about 2010.

We're still going to roll everything in sight when we win, no matter what's on the corner of College and Magnolia in the future. But it was a great last day with those two trees, and it wouldn't have happened if Updyke just stayed in Dadeville that day.

So many people today in Auburn got a lot of benefit from another man's act of stupidity.

Take that, Harvey. War Damn Eagle.

There will be other trees. And, heck, we'll roll whatever's nearby if we win a few games this season (they're replanting trees and redoing the whole area after this season).

I mean, we were rolling bushes and other trees and even the freaking street signs, as you can see from Jumbeaux's picture. (I'm one of the white dots to the right of the stage, right by Toomer's Drugs.)

Hell yeah. Auburn has always been one of my favorite away trips. I'm glad y'all are rolling with the punches and doing what y'all do best: have a good time with a win.

War Damn Eagle. frick those Bama lunatics. Don't let them get you down.

I'm giving Gerrard the benefit of the doubt. I'm going to assume and hope that this happened before he knew that Suarez had actually bitten Ivanovic. I don't know how he wouldn't have but I'll give him the benefit until I know for sure he feels this way.

He is a goal-scoring machine. Just sayin'....

Who has had a better year so far in the EPL?

I'm disgusted by his actions, but I'm sure if he on the team next year he will clean his act up.

This is where situations get out of hand. It is not Gerrard's role as captain to publicly criticize the best player on the team immediately after the match. It is the FA, LFC and Brendan Rodger's responsibilities to punish Suarez appropriately.

You can expect Gerrard, Carragher, Agger and all of the other Liverpool leaders to be fricking pissed off at Suarez and give them a piece of their mind in private. His actions were selfish, and his teammates will be more upset about it than anyone.

Yeah, the captain's armband doesn't give you the license to publicly rip into people.

There is a shortage of characters in this team. It seems to be in this club that you have to play badly to be rewarded. Maybe that is what I should do when I come back. Play badly.

Name that now-disgraced club legend.

Keane is the perfect example of how brutal honesty to the media isn't always a player's best bet.

Maybe not.

But it sounds like he went out of his way to defend Suarez..."It would be an injustice." As if the only thing that matters is how many goals he scored.

He could have just said that it is an issue that will be dealt with internally by the team....and left the praise out.

Yeah, a simple "I haven't seen it" would have been better. I'm not going to get pissed at Gerrard. He hasn't done anything that would warrant me criticizing his character.

two luis suarez's were sharing a picnic one day. "your wife makes a great soup,” said one luis suarez to the other luis suarez. “yes!” agreed the first luis suarez. “but i'm going to miss her terribly.”
