They are fantastic, and have been for a while, but also the technical ability of English youth players since Southgate started reorganizing the youth system in 2013 have improved tremendously. Seeing so many English players with such wonderful technical skills in comparison to the rather paucity of “elegant” players the previous decade is amazing. ESR should have been given a chance far earlier too.
