Bayern overpaid but they're going to have a very good player for the next 5 years (I'm assuming). The addition of Javi means Basti can move farther up the field. It also means we can probably play some more 4-3-3 and not worry about Luiz Gustavo getting a red card.

Yup a very good player and he is also improving. Bilbao just keeps churning out quality players.

His people (not Athletic's) are in the Spanish Professional League offices paying his rescision clause.
Hmmh. I wonder how this was finally worked out (I am supposing Bilbao buckled under deadline pressure, but you never know), and just what amount is/will finally have been paid between the clause and the exchequer.

I'm reading that the Bilbao people didn't approve his visit to Bayern. Is this gonna get ugly or what?

Bayern spent the last 4 days with their lawyers going over the contract and taxes. I guarantee they've done their homework and Bilbao won't have a leg to stand on.

I love watching him play, I'll watch for Javi, not because he's Spanish (others, I may just keep on eye on the results).
