No African team has made the World Cup semifinals. Two nations from CONCACAF and one from Asia have reached that mark.

I think only the us has made the Semifinals and that was in 1938. That isn't even the modern era. And in 2002 when South Korea made it with the flukeiest of wins and home cooking...that's FIFA at its best.

Look I can make the same faulty argument for all but probably 46 or so African teams. Nobody wants to see some no-name from Lesotho in the World Cup.

Not really. Name one star for North America lighting up a champions league team.

Also let's face it the Africans will scream racism if they lose a spot so this is moot point. Time to expand to 40 teams.

Javier Hernandez has bailed out Manchester United several times in the Champions League. Ji-Sung Park played a pivotal part in Manchester United winning the UCL and making to other finals. Joel Campbell nearly eliminated Manchester United last year while on loan with Olympiakos.

Besides, who gives a shite about what confederations are represented in the Champions League?

I agree about the crooks at FIFA but to me its about results. There isn't a world star for the USMNT but most teams in the tournament don't have that. The CAF can complain all they want but they don't deserve 5 spots.

(Frick)Mexico has made it to the knockout rounds the last 5 times in a row.

USMNT has done it 3/4 and 4/6. If people say its a 2 team league then what is Africa and Asia? I've seen comments against Honduras but how is seein them in the World Cup any different than an Angola or Togo?

I wouldn't mind if it gets reevaluated every so often. If CONCACAF begins to have poor results we should lose a spot or wildcard. If the CAF wants to cry racism then let them. The spot they would lose would go to a Central American or Caribbean team anyway.
