The league from 2004 to 2011 was so good. Hopefully today's matches are an indication that it will get back to that level of play.

Yeah, it's pretty simple.
If you play for one of the big 3 or 4 teams in Turkey, you make good money (not like Qatar or China money, but money any of us would take in a heartbeat), have a chance to win the league title, and get regular Champions League action. It's a good deal to play there for a few years.
To a lesser extent, Olympiakos in Greece offers players the same option. I was very impressed by their stadium and fanbase when I visited Athens.

People are too quick to shite on a player in some instances.
Kalinic is a perfect example. Pretty meh with Blackburn, goes to Ukraine, scores in the Europa final. Jumps to Fiorentina and now likely a Milan player and crucial to Croatia NT.

I am getting real tired of PL fans insisting the league is better than the rest of the world. It's certainly competitive but the actual play on the field is consistently terrible, and has been since 2012 at the minimum.

Don't know,but Shakhtar's Brazilian culture is second to none in Europe.
