I called what we did last year as club, since the age range seemed huge. This year it'll be pretty much all kids born in 2006. What is the correct term, just club soccer?

some people still call it select. they are interchangeable.

They'll be forced to move him around this year. They lost their best back and the two best midfielders to the A team.
