I know South America generates good offensive players and Tata likes to sign them.

Don't they generate really good defensive players too? Why are near-washed up American defenders our only option?

Half of our starting defenders are South American.

You realize there's a limit to how many foreigners you can have, right?

And since when does one out of four equal almost all?

The mls needs to get rid of those rules

I don't mind them. There's plenty of loopholes and at least makes them consider playing domestic players. MLS is far from the only league that has a similar rule.

I know plenty of leagues have that rule but it's hurting the product overall. Also until the mls gets better I'd prefer most of our national team guys start moving to bigger leagues

Why do you care so much about Carleton getting in? He's only 17 and probably not ready for significant minutes.

He's shows that he's ready every time he steps on the field. Had a good chance to give him 15+ minutes, but we put in a guy that's pretty much only decent at free kicks (Kratz). I think 95% of the fan base would rather see Carleton on the field than Kratz.

I'd also rather see Goslin get any minutes that he throws McCann's way.

Just a general gripe about about Tata is he's as allergic to subs as Nick Saban is to time outs.

Really doesn't have much to do with the rule. No one forces them to sign with MLS.

Not really helping your domestic product if 97% of the league is foreigners.

If Weah can get 15 minutes for PSG, Carleton should get more than 90 seconds for Atlanta (Carleton is better than Weah).

You don't make roster and personnel decisions cause the fans want it.

I wanted to see Carleton get in as well, but you might hurt yourself making this big of a stretch.

How so? I think PSG had at least a 3 goal lead when he came in. We decided to put in an aging, useless Kratz and put Carleton back on the bench when DC scored in the 86'.

Weah was only in the squad in the first place because Mbappe, Neymar and Cavani were all resting/hurt ahead of the Champions League. Troyes are horrible toward the end of Ligue 1 season and PSG have a huge lead. (And it was 2-0, PSG were sleepwalking by that point.)

Weah might feature a little more down the stretch for PSG... he got 20ish minutes this weekend after PSG went up 4-0 on last-place Metz... but it’s because the superstars aren’t playing, the title is practically settled and the competition is waaaaaaaaaay worse.

AUFC were playing a full-strength team, sans Barco, in a home opener against a team they desperately wanted to beat.

Completely different situations.

It's still trusting a young player to close out a game with a decent cushion.

Tata said Barco could potentially return for Minnesota at the end of March.

Carleton and Goslin were called up to the US U20 team, but both are available for tonight's match.
