And would you find it smarter to fake an injury that stops your own attack? That makes zero sense.

It'd be smarter to fake an injury immediately after a turnover in your offensive 1/3rd, when the ball is still on the other side of midfield. Not when the opposing team has the ball around your 18, because you're just taking yourself out of the play and they don't have to kick the ball out. Also, why would you fake an injury in the 2nd half when you're losing at home?
