Avoiding piling up too much against the cap. Get some squad depth at lower cost, trade for some allocation then go sign some bigger names. Seems to be Eales' MO.

Could it be that Loyd and Parkhurst are the starters in CD? Dear lord, I'm taller than the both of them.

Loyd is a bit of a Swiss Army knife type player. He has played CDM, CB, RB for fcd.

He very well could be paired with Parkhurst. That could be trouble. I'm already worried.

Toia will be our LB I suppose.

That's my concern, but both are good with the ball at their feet, which is what Tata likes.

Can confirm a deal in place for Irwin to go back to Toronto. Hearing Mark Bloom and cash is headed back to Atlanta. Bloom from Marietta, Ga.

...and there's your other full back?

So Romero would be the third DP... I guess that means no Guardado?

I mean, I'm fine with it, but he would've done wonders for attendance.

Tata's influence is definitely cast on this Atlanta club. It seems there will be a South American flair to this team's style with the significant investments in young, talented players. Atlanta was not looking to fill spaces in its lineup through this expansion draft it seems but rather saw it as a method of grabbing one valuable contributing player, a little prospective depth, and money for cap purposes.

Zach Loyd is a solid, experienced MLS player whose versatility should be valuable. He can play CB, FB, or defensive MF. When he went out this summer due to a bad concussion and broken nose Walker Zimmerman cemented himself as the CB partner to Matt Hedges at FC Dallas. An experienced MLS player who knows the league and its players is a good thing to have in central defense.

If Almiron and Romero pan out, they could provide a dangerous attack up the middle and on the wing. Loyd could play CB next to Parkhurst or fill a Beckerman defensive midfield role or even play FB. Jones will be up top to finish attacks.

I look forward to this club's development. They are definitely making more of a splash than Minnesota, who seem to be keeping a much tighter rein on the budget.

The draw and influence of Tata is present. Many young guys want to play for and be taught by him.

Atlanta really did well when they selected and were able to get Tata.
