Surprised Ross Barkley was unowned.
I wanted to draft him late but I was already Midfielder heavy and was concerned that Roberto would have him out wide again.

I saw Barkley and assumed he was so I didn't even bother checking the spreadsheet. That's a good pickup as is Kone.

I went with Fletcher last week because I thought he was going to get more minutes than Kone. When Ings did not play again, I wanted both.
Posted on 8/19/15 at 4:17 pm to Vicks Kennel Club
I had Naismith first, so I obviously thought the same about Kone.

Week 2 Recap
I would have posted this earlier, but I never saw Tigerstark's score until just now. I will also write up the previews for the other five teams tonight.
BPG 55 defeats Sticky 22
Joel Ward was a supersub for BPG with 10 points. Clyne and Darmian rounded out a great three-man back line that outscored Sticky's whole team. Mata led the talented midfield with a nine point effort. For Sticky, Benteke posted a strong game with nine points, but the rest of the squad did nothing. Through two weeks, this team is stuck in last place. I hope Sticky gets it going soon unless he plays my team.
War 28 defeats GC 23
This was a battle that mimicked the SPL. Pathetic and hard to watch. I am not sure there is anyone worth mentioning because four teams outscored the total score of this matchup.
VKC 61 defeats rdw 49
Fabianski, Smalling, Kompany, Williams, Eriksen, and Giroud all scored at least six points. When over the half of the starting 11 does that well, it is hard to lose. Kompany has been incredible thus far and a huge x-factor, but I have to be a little worried about the new City signing. Feeling much better about this squad compared to last year. I gave the defending champ his first loss of the season even with a sterling performance by Lukaku. America's own Tim Howard had a strong showing with 8 points. Cesc was a disappointment last week, but so was the whole Chelsea squad.
Mick 32 defeats Tigerstark 28
Mick is sitting at the top of the table. Aguero's captained score of 12 was huge to grab a close victory. The more expensive Ayew is working out with 7 points this week and Yaya continues to be a steal with another five after a killer week 1. It is fair to say that the Terry-Ivanovic combo did not work out. They scored one point together. Hopefully, the signing of Pedro (likely future member of my team) will not cause the not so defensively-minded Ivanovic to hit the bench. That could crush Tigerstark's team.
etm 58 defeats Wait 56
The Fantasy Premier League game of the week was a nail biter. David Silva continued to be talisman for etm and Riyad Mahrez is the runaway fantasy MVP through two weeks. Luke Shaw and Joe Gomez formed a nice pair to combine for 12 points. The captained Gomis and Diouf provided an effective attack. There were points all over the field. Wait was the big time hard luck loser. Payet was brilliant, and he looks like the type of player to lead West Ham to the top eight this year. Seamus Coleman posted another brilliant fantasy performance. He is a DEF1 lock as usual. Chadli's and Montero's efforts were not enough to secure a victory.

Hugo Lloris being the seventh keeper drafted was a great pick. I think he is a better IRL than fantasy though because the Spurs seem to let him down sometimes.
The defense is not too exciting. Sticky is banking on getting points from their top sides getting shutouts. However, none of Cahill, Rose, and Monreal may even be a top 2 defender at their own club.
There are some big names in the midfield with Oscar, Santi, Lamela, and Bastian. I think Santi should be a MID1 again, but he carries a little more risk than the other first rounders. Bastian's health is a question mark, and you have to wonder if he will be slowed down with Hendo's mouth constantly on his dick.
Benteke should be a bonafide stud this year and maybe the best player on Sticky's team. Lambert was a very savvy pick, and he is this team's x-factor. If Lambert gets on the field with Berahino, then a 150 point season is not out of the question. I do not know what to expect from Falcao anymore, but I have to like the inevitable upside.
Bottom line: Drafting in the 10 spot is really tough, but I think I like a decent amount of this team. If Benteke is a top three FWD, then Sticky could have a nice campaign.

I cannot hate on anyone picking Tim Howard, but it may not have been the best move for fantasy. Let's hope it works out because I obviously want Howard to be the best keeper in the league.
Phil Jagielka is a great fantasy player and well worth the fifth round price tag. Per and Mangala should be serviceable, and Mangala has significant upside being on City. He just needs consistent minutes.
Cesc was a safe and smart pick at 1.8, but rdw really needs to hit on one of Ramsey or Firmino if he wants to repeat as champion. Willian is meh, but he may not be getting many minutes much longer if Chelsea nabs a few high profile signings.
Lukaku will be interesting. He could dominate, but the young striker could still underwhelm from a fantasy perspective. I like the Defoe pick a lot. I can easily see him bagging double digit goals.
Bottom line: In order to win the league again, rdw will need a breakout player or two, but Cesc and Lukaku could easily form a winning core. I currently think this is a middle of the pack team, but I know next to nothing.

Cech may want to take off his helmet, so he can forget his two weeks with Arsenal, but he should compete with De Gea (if he stays) and Courtois as the #1 keeper in 2015-2016.
Baines, Clyne, and Darmian form probably the second best defense in the league. Baines is a bonafide DEF1, Clyne was massive last year for Southampton, and Darmian has DEF1 potential at United. Gotta like that trio.
Sanchez is a beast and obvious pick at 1.3. Nothing else needs to be said. Coutinho should score the most wonder goals in the league since that magical year from Gareth Bale. He already has one to that tally. Juan Mata being available at 2.3 was a little surprising even if he underwhelmed last year. I felt like Mata and Toure fell a little too far.
BPG grabbing two promoted strikers is the most interesting part of his team. He has two nice lottery tickets that could propel him straight to the top or leave him starved for points from his FWD position. Trust me, it is hard to win without a good forward or two.
Bottom line: This may be my favorite team I have seen yet. While a lot of teams are very close to one another, I think BPG got great value and some picks and will score loads of points. Let's go ahead and call him the preseason favorite just to add pressure.

Yeah that was my gamble. Hoping for a repeat of Ings/Austin from last year. If not I'll go down in flames.

I relish the pressure.

This may be the only team in the league with a goalie situation I do not feel good about. Sunderland will hemorrhage goals this season and Foster is out. Pantilimon finishing in the top 10 would be a success.
If Ivanovic and Terry repeat 2014-2015, then Tigerstark drafted an absurd 350 points from the second and third rounds. However, there is no doubt that drafting defensive teammates is a huge double or nothing. Koscielny and Skrtel round up what should easily be the best defense in the league.
I think Yohan Cabaye will be the star of the midfield. I think Milner was a reach in round four, but I will defer to Tigerstark's knowledge about Liverpool. Will Schneiderlin and Lallana get enough minutes now that both are gone from the grounds at St. Mary's? There are a lot of question marks in this midfield.
Wayne Rooney is Wayne Rooney. I have to think he scores more than he did last year. An on-form and captained Rooney can almost single-handedly win a week.
Bottom line: The defender double down was the most unique strategy that anyone took, and I am not terribly confident because last year was truly a best case scenario with those two. As a whole, I do not love this team, but again, I know nothing.
