Telegraph reporting we still have interest in Rooney and that, while he prefers Chelsea, he'd play for us and also that MUFC might be more inclined to sell him to us.

No doubt. Arsenal is a title contender with Rooney though. He'd be a 25/15 type of player.

I think the Newell's defender Barca has been linked with is Santiago Vergini.

That's him! And he is currently out of contract which means a free transfer.

yeah, I don't get that at all. unless it's a personal thing trying not to give it to Jose because they could have hired him instead of Moyes (or as a token of kindness for selling them rvp), it makes no sense for them to sell to either of us.

Well Chelsea is already title contenders. You sell Rooney to them and you hand them the league and simultaneously doom Moyes' first season.

Nothing seems to make sense anymore. This window has been legit crazy. Everyone is taking crazy pills.

In terms of player moves and coaching changes, it has to be the craziest window ever.

I guess each year that title is passed on though.

You could have said that Torres guaranteed Chelsea the title a few years ago when Ancelotti signed him in January.

Chelsea have a lot of attacking players, it's already a bit crowded up top with Lukaku, Ba and Torres all expecting to play and they have Lampard, Mata, and Oscar who all would prefer to be playing in behind the striker. Rooney is also a big personality and he would be walking into a locker room full of big personalities.

I'm not saying that I don't think Rooney would be successful at Chelsea, I do think he would, just that you never know.

Ba and Torres would become expendable the second Rooney is signed. Neither one of them are good enough players to start for Chelsea anyway.

Rooney would have a huge season if he went to Chelsea. There were a lot of factors that suggested Torres wouldn't light the world on fire. Rooney is dynamic and can fit into almost any system.

Ba was a stop gap player to begin with. He runs a lot, but I don't think he's at Chelsea's level.

Rooney on Chelsea would be a monstrous signing. That team would be scary good. I sort of forgot about them this window for some reason, but watched them play the other day. They are already nearly awesome. All they need is a striker.

2 goals in 11 starts and 3 subs in the league speaks for itself.

I really hope we don't hand Rooney over to Chelski. I would be very interested to see his reaction if he scored in Manchester, though. I can't figure out what's going on in his head.

I don't think United sells Rooney, unless they're already in negotians for another elite player.

Would you want an angry Rooney in your locker room?

And if you had an angry Rooney in your locker room what would you do with him? Let his bitterness affect the team? Bench him during a world cup year further infuriating him? Send him to practice with the kids while he's being paid 240,000 a week? Sell him to Chelsea or Arsenal and hope they don't run away with the league?

United have some serious decisions to make. I'm not sure there's a good answer for them in this situation. I might be inclined to lose his wages, cash in on him, and lose his attitude problem.

Had a nice lol at this.

but seriously, Man U fancies themselves an elite club. I think they'd let an upset player languish on the bench just to make a point, even if it doesn't make locker room or fiscal sense. The hope is that Rooney loses the ego, and does what he can to help the team suceed.

Wait, Norwich got Leroy Fer? When? Man's a BEAST on FIFA.

ETA: Oh, last month. Completely missed that.

Read that the other day and was just as shocked.
