Unsung hero last night...

Christion Jones!
After Maze got hurt, kid stepped up in a huge way on special teams. I was fearful he would bobble a punt or two on the big stage but the kid has sure hands and liked his agressiveness bringing that KO out the end zone 7yds deep and getting it past the 30.

Jones and Norwood stepped up HUGE.

I was concerned as the second half started that we would go into a shell and just play to keep the lead. When Jones ran that ball out of the end zone and got past the 30 I knew we were still going to be on the attack. It made me feel much better, especially considering the drive we had in the aftermath of that return.

Bama's receivers as well... Hanks, Norwood, Bell... made some big plays and took some HARD hits to hang on the ball in several situations.
eta - And Brad Smelley. Guy has great hands.

Yeah, just fielding the punts without a bobble was clutch...the returns were just gravy.

I'd also like to say Nick Gentry played fantastic. He was the quickest lineman off the ball and couldn't be blocked.

Pretty much every player on the team stepped up, that was one of the cleaniest performances in history. You guys just refused to make any mistake last night. Much love to that team of players, it may have been a terrible game for LSU and not all that exciting a game for the non LSU/Bama fans, but that was one of the best performances in football history. You really can't ask much more from players than what Bama did last night.

Yes sir. He played his arse off. What a great team win. So happy for AJ to have a great game through the air too.

That's what I love about his teams. Blood, sweat and tears. You don't put your arse on the line, you don't play.
