I have heard that under this scenario Alabama could be left out of the NCG...how does this work?

voters vote LSU and Ok. St. ahead of Bama.

Just curious why people think Alabama wouldn't move up in that scenario, but thanks for your thought provoking response.

Let's see because LSU would be 12-1 (better record) with a win over Bama and a better resume overall than Bama.
LSU will still be #1 if they lose today, and rightfully so.

osu would probably get a big jump in the computers

lsu would go do to a significantly better resume and head to head win...

if #1 loses I don't see how #2 can't move up. votes will be up for grabs at that point and I think some would go to Bama, more than they have now

If #1 has a better record, a better resume, a better strength of schedule, and beat #2 in their house, then it makes much more sense as to how that could happen.

so 1 beats 2 in their house, has a better record, are the division champs, a MUCH BETTER resume, has to play an extra game, and then 2 gets a pass?

do you know how crazy that sounds...Bama would get some more votes for sure, but not enough

That's what I was thinking as well, but there's really no arguing LSU has the better resume. I really don't see LSU losing though despite them looking terrible so far, Georgia can't capitalize on their chances

recent history shows that when you lose a game, you more often than not move down the rankings

I'm not gonna lie. If LSU doesn't change something, Bama will be worrying. LSU SHOULD make some adjustments though.

but you've got to agree that this situation would be pretty unique

how would a pollster justify moving Bama ahead?

what would be the basis for the Bama argument?

about what?

Why would voters punish Bama for LSU's loss? That makes no sense

LSU losing

It's hard to keep all your #1 place votes after losing, some would find their way to Bama

I dont' think LSU loses though so it really doesn't matter tbh

Good question. I think because OSU would be #1 in the computers, putting them #2 overall. That would still put LSU at #1, because of their large lead in the polls, leaving bama out. The computers love OSU.
