Gemini summary (I left in the misspellings)

quote:

This video analyzes why Tyler Shuck of the New Orleans Saints is currently one of the most underrated rookie quarterbacks in the NFL, focusing on his high football IQ, poise under pressure, and how Offensive Coordinator Kellen Moore has tailored the system to his strengths.

Key Video Highlights
[00:31] - Reading Complex Coverages: The analysis breaks down Shuck's ability to decipher "simulated pressure" looks. He correctly identifies a cover-zero blitz and quickly strikes a void in the defense for a touchdown against a division rival.

[02:02] - Record-Breaking Efficiency: Shuck currently holds a borderline top-10 completion percentage and has secured more wins than any other rookie quarterback this season.

[02:16] - Pocket Awareness & Mobility: A highlight shows Shuck escaping pressure from multiple defenders to scramble for a 13-yard touchdown, demonstrating elite pocket awareness and athleticism.

[03:40] - Poise and Progressions: In a play against "quarters poach" coverage, Shuck moves through three different reads. Rather than panicking under pressure, he shows the maturity to bail out or check down rather than forcing a turnover.

[06:56] - Offensive Tempo: The Saints operate at the second-highest offensive tempo in the league. This "up-tempo" style helps Shuck by forcing defenses into predictable, "vanilla" looks, which mirrors the no-huddle systems he ran in college.

[08:19] - Chemistry with Chris Olave: The video details how Shuck and Olave use "choice routes" to exploit specific defensive zones. Their growing cohesion allows Shuck to anticipate exactly where Olave will stop his route [09:16].

[10:28] - High IQ Checkdowns: Shuck is praised for his ability to reset and rotate back to his front side when a primary deep route is covered, prioritizing ball security over risky "hero" throws.

[12:02] - Deep Ball Velocity: While the offense focuses on intermediate routes, Shuck proves he can still challenge elite cornerbacks like JC Horn by delivering high-velocity deep balls when he identifies a lack of safety help.

Summary: The video concludes that while Shuck still makes occasional rookie mistakes [11:15], his processing speed and the synergy between his skill set and Kellen Moore’s scheme make him a legitimate candidate for the future of the Saints franchise.
I've had some decrease in traffic and was doing some research (making sure the usual SEO checklist stuff doesn't have any issues). It seems the latest Google core update has crushed a ton of websites, focusing on AI and above the fold content (specifically ads and LSAs).

Here are some threads from Reddit

Potential impacts from Google’s December Core Update

quote:

One of my sites (~35 pages) has seen some dramatic changes since 12/11 when this roll out started.

For instance: Complete loss of keywords it’s ranked for (top 5) over the past 6 months Massive loss of niche-relevant backlinks (that still show as hot in SEMRush) Drop in impressions (tied back to keyword loss)

Pages with those keywords are still indexed on Google.

No Security or Manual actions flagged

No changes to crawl budget

Copy is AI proofed but human written.

I know these can get bumpy but this site is getting abused worse than Beecher in Oz.

quote:

Direct traffic remains about the same, but organic traffic is almost dead.

I’ve given up on the page indexing report - that hasn’t been updated since 11/21.

The backlinks died around 8pm on the 11th - earlier in the day they were fine.

These pages were in AI overviews Thursday, but completely gone on Friday

quote:

I got the same. I got more like a small page with around 25 pages. I've had in several Keywords position 1-5. They are all completely gone from today. Only one single page survived, a little vue application that ranked for the last 2 years continuously at position 1! And now it has been dropped to position 16 with this update. So the whole site got completely invisible, that's crazy..

December 3rd Algorithm Update - Massive Traffic Drop Despite Stable Rankings?

quote:

Anyone else get crushed by what seems like a December 3rd Google update? I run a network of beach webcam sites and saw 40-50% organic traffic loss overnight, but here's the weird part: rankings are stable (still position 1-3 for most keywords), CTRs collapsed, and video thumbnails disappeared from SERPs despite valid VideoObject schema. Meanwhile, YouTube video carousels now dominate every "[location] + webcam" query, and municipal/government sites suddenly outrank commercial sites for local queries. No manual actions, engagement metrics actually improved, and our B2B site is unaffected. This feels like a SERP format restructuring rather than a traditional penalty - curious if anyone else in local/video/webcam niches got hit similarly or has insights on recovery? Specifically wondering if others lost video rich snippets around this date.

Core update December hitted whole website

quote:

So my website got completely hit by the current core update. ALL my pages are gone in search terms where I ranked with posts between 1-5 before. Only one page(what's kinda a small vue app) is still available but dropped from position 1 to 12. I was never in this situation in the last 4 years. What is the next step to do now? Anyone got maybe a good resource to work through or experience?

quote:

yeah, this is the case for me as well. My site is relatively new in my niche (started summer 2025) and has high-quality results. Competitors with much lower quality pages which provide near to no information are now ranked above me again, but their domains are much older.

quote:

Lost all rankings with this update. Site was hit in August 2023 until August 2024, shot up and is now hit again.

If this is the future, is SEO dead? What is the point of a website if there is going to be 2-4 full layers of above the fold content? Even if your page is ranking one, you still have to get through AI, local service ads, Google Business, and the ads in Google Business results before you get to that ranking. At best you get aggregated into the AI search results and may get a click if someone wants the citation.

Are we in a AEO and LSA model or death moving forward?
Seems like the logical move to put the knife in LSU's back, especially with major talent in Nola this year.
For example: Lane Kiffin shows the college football world he is who we thought he was, and that's not good

The general trend in this media melt is the dishonesty that Ole Miss is a major program and a title contender this year. For instance, from this article:

quote:

It could’ve stopped with the Rebels, the squad he transformed into a national championship contender when few thought such a thing possible -- and the university that transformed him into a coveted candidate when few would have believed it. Squeezed between the SEC power to the East, Alabama, and the other to the West, LSU, he made the Rebels into 2025’s best football team in the Deep South.

At Oxford, he could have remained for years and been unchallenged by social media strategists, and bossy boosters. He would’ve owned the town like no one since Faulkner. and he would’ve made more money than he could count.

The road to the top of college football, or at least to the players likely to carry a program there, will be less treacherous at LSU than it has been for him in Mississippi. But that is the only element of the position that will carry less danger.

These media types are fricking losers and they always show it in situations like this. They basically want Kiffin to remain in a place where he has no chance of winning a title, and they're willing to lie about his chances because of the feels.

Here is the biggest pussy of them all, Dan Wolken, with his hilarious satire of modern media: Lane Kiffin's disastrous exit from Ole Miss spells a much deeper problem in college football

quote:

One of the teams that has unofficially qualified for that playoff by every traditional metric is the University of Mississippi. Lane Kiffin, the coach who led Ole Miss to that 11-1 record and the best regular season in its post-integration history, resigned Sunday to become the head coach at LSU.

He left after a protracted tug-of-war with administrators at Ole Miss about whether he could coach the team in the playoff while simultaneously leading a historical rival and direct competitor that plays Ole Miss annually. And because Kiffin didn’t get exactly what he wanted — there was simply no way Ole Miss officials could let him coach their team (and potentially recruit their players) for the next month — he did his level best to burn the place to the ground, reportedly issuing ultimatums to his staff that they needed to leave with him immediately or they wouldn’t be welcome in Baton Rouge.

1. Engage in the dishonesty over-valuing Ole Miss and their chances this year

2. Engage in secondary-level dishonesty by promoting misinformation from Ole Miss

quote:

Kiffin leaving the No. 7 team in the country to take a job with another SEC program before the sport’s marquee event is bad for the product, and no other well-run sports league would tolerate it.

Yet in all the years of listening to administrators like Sankey fret about the unsustainability of the current model and wring their hands about how fans will react if college athletes got paid like professionals or the harm done to bowl games when players opt out, have you heard even a whisper of concern about what the adults are doing to wreck the legitimacy of their sport?

Why does anyone in college football accept this as a normal cost of doing business when it crushes a fan base, sabotages a team and devalues your playoff?

quote:

The SEC is a league where a Tennessee coach was once served a subpoena at media days, an Ole Miss coach was fired for calling an escort service on his university phone and an Alabama coach lasted only four months after an unfortunate night at a strip club.

But none of them have done more damage to their profession, the reputation of their conference and the image of the sport than Kiffin walking out on a playoff team and dragging a wrecking ball behind him.

I was iffy about the Kiffin hire but did enjoy the spectacle of the three team competition creating bantz. However, this Woke-in article just made everything so clear. I literally did not think this level of melt was possible, let alone from a disinterested party.

His comparisons and arguments are on the level of the poli board. I am legit wondering who the audience is for this shite. This is writing for emotional women, who are unlikely to give a shite about a football coach leaving (Especially during Christmas season). Is this the classic "sports writer who hates sports because they're not actual journalists so they hope by shitting on them they gain fans in a media form they consider legitimate" meme?
They're a stepping stone program who can't admit it, making their counterparts like USF and Tulane look great in comparison today.

Very low-class, low-level behavior beneath even G5 conference members.

Today showed their place in the pecking order and it's the lowest part of the bottom tier.
I'm taking a trip down memory lane, looking for the infamous pics of him in the downpour at USC and stumbled upon these gems.

An oral history of Lane Kiffin's firing on the tarmac 10 years ago

quote:

They never would've hired him at SC except he made this pitch to them that he was bringing Monte Kiffin, who they thought was the best defensive coordinator in the country, and Ed Orgeron, who was a beloved figure at SC. That's how he got the job.

quote:

You could see how brilliant [Kiffin] was as an offensive mind, and he had a reputation as being an unbelievable recruiter. He already had Coach Orgeron on board, who is one of the best recruiters in football. ... [Orgeron] would take me on the road recruiting with him all the time. You'd get in the car with him and he'd give you a Red Bull, a pack of peanuts and a beef jerky. That was your day of rationing, and he went from daylight to dark recruiting everybody -- the principal, the counselor, the janitor at the school.

quote:

We were talking one time and he goes, "You know my nickname when I was a kid, right?" I said no. He goes, "It was 'Helicopter.' Because when I was a kid, I would walk into a room and just stir everything up."

quote:

Someday, when they write an epitaph for Lane Kiffin, it's going to be, "He couldn't help himself."

quote:

[Kiffin] had this briefcase he used to take with him, and he left it on the bus because he thought he was going to talk to those guys for like 10 minutes and get back on the bus. He went to this little building, and they sent the bus to USC. He had to get someone to get his briefcase and bring it back to his house because he never went back to USC.

quote:

Lane has developed a sense of humor, but he always used to talk to us about what the storyline was. I think Lane realized tarmac sounded better. He didn't get fired on the tarmac. There was like a small building where the charter jets would pull up to. But it always sounded better, and Lane was smart enough to realize, "I'm going to go with tarmac."

And remember, all of this came after all of this...

Which came after this..

Which came after this...

Then he had a major redemption arc only to become CFB's biggest villain again for the 3rd time.

More details---yes this is a huge scandal just not the one Steve Baker, Kyle Seraphin, Glenn Beck, and Tom Massie promised.

"Multiple sources said that a unit overseen by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard drafted a memo identifying the woman and describing allegations that she had placed the explosive devices outside Democratic and Republican party offices.

ODNI officials said the agency received a tip from a person affiliated with a media organization about potential criminal wrongdoing by an individual believed to be working at an intelligence agency and set about documenting it in a memo.

A short time after the unfinished memo began to circulate, the conservative news outlet, Blaze News, published details similar to those in the draft, including the woman's full name.

CBS News was not shown the memo, but sources said McNamara had accessed confidential files to obtain details about the woman for the draft memo, including her place of work and Social Security number.

The federal security officer cooperated with the FBI, sources close to the matter said. Her lawyer said publicly she had done nothing wrong. Both the woman and her lawyer declined to comment.

She returned to work after being placed on a brief leave, one of the sources said."

Update: that woman was not the pipe bomber, despite reporting from the (clearly unbiased and quality) Blaze News.

Who would have thought someone like Tulsi would rely on bad reporting from a biased source, even though the foundation of the article was something weak like gait analysis?

Weird news of the week

quote:

Two north Texas men have been charged in relation to a plot that included invading an island off Haiti, murdering the men on the island, and using the women and children as sex slaves, announced U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs.

Gavin Rivers Weisenburg, 21, of Allen, and Tanner Christopher Thomas, 20, of Argyle were named in a two-count indictment returned by a federal grand jury in the Eastern District of Texas charging them with conspiracy to murder, maim, or kidnap in a foreign country and production of child pornography.

Information presented in court indicates that between August 2024 and July 2025, Weisenburg and Thomas are alleged to have conspired to recruit and lead an unlawful expeditionary force to the Island of Gonave, which is part of the Republic of Haiti, for the purpose of carrying out their rape fantasies. Weisenburg and Thomas planned to purchase a sailboat, firearms, and ammunition, then recruit members of the District of Columbia-area homeless population to serve as a mercenary force as they invaded Gonave Island and staged a coup d'etat. Weisenburg and Thomas intended to murder all of the men on the island so that they could then turn all of the women and children into their sex slaves.

They learned Creole, enrolled in schools to learn the skills, and one even enlisted in the Air Force to gain further skills.

When the Columbine Valley Police Department (Colorado), using their dystopian flock surveillance system, saw a green Rivian truck driving down the same street, in the same town, 20 times over the course of a month, they became suspicious. But even more suspicious than that, the driver of the Rivian truck was a woman with blonde hair... So when a $25 package went missing from a porch in that neighborhood that the blonde bandit was driving her 70 thousand dollar truck through on a daily basis, it obviously must have been her. At that point the government did what any good dystopian government agency would do, they sent a rude, bald member of their goon squad to the woman’s front door to lie to her; gaslight her; and threaten her.

Lucky for the citizen, this was all recorded on her door camera

quote:

"You know why I'm here," Columbine Valley Police Sgt. Jamie Milliman said to her. The interaction was captured on her doorbell camera.

She felt she was already guilty in the eyes of the police.

"You know we have cameras in that town," Milliman said. "You can't get a breath of fresh air in or out of that place without us knowing, correct?"

It started as an attempt to confirm whether Elser's truck, a green Rivian, was the same vehicle seen driving through the town of Bow Mar, and quickly escalated.

"It went right into, 'we have video of you stealing a package,'" Elser said.

Milliman showed her photos of her truck entering and leaving Bow Mar and that he had video of her committing the theft.

"Can I see the video?" Elser asked.

"If you go to court, you can," the officer replied. "If you're going to deny it, I'm not going to extend you any courtesy."

This is the SOP. They give you some basic evidence on the exterior of the situation. Then they lie and claim they have direct evidence of you committing the crime. When you ask to see THAT evidence, they say they will only share if you admit to the crime, otherwise you have to go to court to prove your innocence.

The LEO was disciplined, but only because the citizen had it all on camera. Without the camera, this would be reduced to a report written by the dishonest LEO and it would protect him fully.

YouTuber Cody Detwiler, who goes by WhistlinDiesel online, was arrested Wednesday over claims of tax evasion. And before you ask, yes, it appears to be real this time. An indictment in the Tennessee circuit court for Williamson County says Detwiler “did unlawfully and willfully attempt in any manner to evade or defeat any tax due the State of Tennessee in an amount of five hundred dollars ($500) or more, to-wit: sales tax due on the purchase of a 2020 Ferrari F8 Tributo.”

The supercar in question is almost certainly the $400,000 exotic that caught fire while speeding through a corn field in an August 2023 video. Detwiler made it clear in February of the same year that he bought the Ferrari “just to destroy it,” posting another video of a self-described durability test where he used it to “feed farm animals, go fishing, and make sensitive people upset.” It’s worth noting that the F8 Tributo was wearing Montana plates when it caught fire; many supercar owners register their vehicles in Montana as the state doesn’t collect sales tax.

In case you’re unfamiliar, that’s a recurring theme on the channel: Taking precious vehicles and absolutely thrashing them for clicks. The three WhistlinDiesel videos featuring the Ferrari have racked up 44 million views and counting.

The Montana license plate scheme is a common one with supercars. Montana doesn't have sales taxes, so there was a popular scheme where people would incorporate an LLC in Montana and have that LLC buy the vehicle. Then it's registered in Montana as property of the LLC, no sales tax paid, and they drive it in their home state. 2 Vinwiki videos from 2018 about this

The ‘Black Insurrectionist’ was actually white. The deception did not stop there

quote:

“Black Insurrectionist,” the anonymous social media persona behind some of the most widely circulated conspiracy theories about the 2024 election, can be traced to a man from upstate New York.

He’s also white.

With a profile photo of a Black soldier and the tagline “I FOLLOW BACK TRUE PATRIOTS,” the account on the platform X amassed more than 300,000 followers while posting dubious claims about Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. Some were amplified by former President Donald Trump, his running mate Ohio Sen. JD Vance, and their Republican allies in Congress. The most salacious claims have come in the closing weeks of the campaign.

Last month, the account posted what Black Insurrectionist claimed was an affidavit from an ABC News employee, alleging Harris was given questions in advance of the network’s debate with Trump — which ABC News vigorously disputed. Trump approved, though, declaring, “I love the person.” More recently, Black Insurrectionist posted a baseless claim alleging inappropriate behavior between Walz and a student decades ago, a falsehood that U.S. intelligence officials said sprang from a Russian disinformation campaign.

The video features an in-depth financial audit of the state of Michigan with Governor Gretchen Whitmer. The discussion covers a wide range of topics, including Michigan's economy, state spending, debt, taxation, and national policy issues.

Here is a detailed summary of the various talking points from the video:

Michigan's Economy and Priorities
North Star Goal: The Governor states that Michigan's primary focus, or "north star," is ensuring anyone can come to the state to build the life they want, which involves investing in people, skills for advanced manufacturing, and creating desirable places to live [03:39].

Tariffs and Trade: Governor Whitmer identifies the "tariff chaos" as a major concern impacting Michigan's agriculture and advanced manufacturing, especially the auto industry [05:01]. She advocates for using tariffs "like a scalpel not a sledgehammer" and acknowledges the industry's reliance on a built-in trade relationship with Canada [06:53].

Business Incentives (EVs): The discussion addresses controversial state incentive spending, such as the reduction of the Blue Oval Battery Park package [09:33]. The Governor defends aggressive investment in EV battery plants, explaining they are crucial for Michigan to maintain long-term dominance in mobility and auto research and development [01:11:32].

Economic Outlook: Caleb notes that 87% of Michigan CEOs expect a weaker state economy over the next decade due to national unpredictability [01:12:17].

State Finances and Debt
Debt Management: Michigan's outstanding debt was $6.92 billion at the end of 2024, a 4.2% reduction year-over-year [01:13:46]. The Governor highlights that the state is required to run a balanced budget and has secured an upgrade in its bond rating [01:14:54].

Net Position Concern: A concern is raised that the state's overall net position (assets minus commitments) remains a negative $1.3 billion [01:16:46].

Budgetary Uncertainty: The Governor attributes some financial instability to the unpredictability of federal funding and the risk of government shutdowns [01:18:37].

Spending Breakdown: Health and Human Services accounts for the largest share of spending at 44% ($35.57 billion) [01:19:16].

Welfare and Pensions
Food Assistance Incentives: The host questions whether welfare systems, like food assistance, might be structured in a way that discourages people from working more hours [01:19:45]. The Governor acknowledges this as a potential flaw, but says Michigan operates under the same federal rules as other states [01:20:09].

Pension Underfunding: A significant problem is the underfunded state pension system, which has a funding ratio of 74.83% and an unfunded liability of about $27 billion [01:21:04]. This amount is noted as five times the annual K-12 School Aid Fund contribution [01:22:56].

Long-Term Solution: Governor Whitmer explains that the state is phasing out the pension system for new public employees, which will ultimately remove the system as a long-term fiscal problem [01:27:17].

Revenue, Taxes, and Spending
'Sin Taxes' for Schools: The School Aid Fund is backed by marijuana taxes ($270 million) and sports betting/iGaming revenue [01:29:30]. The Governor notes that while "sin taxes" are politically easy to pass, the majority of school funding comes from the sales tax [01:32:00].

Income Tax Rate: The personal income tax rate was legally returned to 4.25% from 4.05% after a court ruling [01:35:32]. The Governor supported following the law and would require a clear plan for funding before agreeing to any future tax cuts [01:35:46].

Working Families Tax Credit: The state increased its match of the federal Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), now called the Working Families Tax Credit, from 6% to 30%, to incentivize full-time work and provide tax relief [01:38:40].

EV Fees: The $160 annual fee for Electric Vehicles (EVs) to replace lost gas tax revenue is discussed, which the Governor defends as a fair registration fee since EVs use the roads [01:41:36].

Pork Spending: Caleb details nearly $1 billion in state earmarks (pork spending), including funds for infrastructure, community projects (like the Detroit Zoo and Special Olympics), and grants [01:44:03]. The Governor notes she is working with the legislature to implement front-end transparency on these projects [01:46:57].

Policy and National Issues
Personal Finance Education: A significant policy win discussed is the new requirement for a mandatory personal finance class for high school graduation, which the Governor believes is vital for preparing students to manage their lives and finances [01:54:20].

Tesla Direct Sales Law: The video mentions that state law prevents Tesla from being a licensed dealer or owning a service center in Michigan, a restriction Caleb criticizes [01:56:51].

Political Extremism: The Governor calls the rise of political extremism "really dangerous" and stresses the need for leaders with a platform to speak out against anger and violence, regardless of its origin [01:10:46].

Conclusion: The host concludes by giving the state of Michigan a "Hammer Financial Score" of a six or a seven out of 10 [01:11:45].

Interesting development in DEM pols going on major online platforms. This may be the first Presidential candidate to go on a legit, unscripted interview on a podcast/OCC platform.

Shamit Substack article from June

From that moment on, text after text rolled in from league execs, agents, and friends. The friends were simply conducting a wellness check. The execs and agents? They were less friendly.

quote:

”That is the worst draft trade I have seen in over a decade,” one Eastern Conference executive lamented.

“They should all be fired next year when that becomes a top 5 pick,” relayed another.

One after another— it was a ruthless bombardment. ”Are they not aware of how good that pick is gonna be?” This line of questioning from one high level executive left me searching for answers across the next few days. Here is what I was able to dig up.

quote:

”Man they were killing them up there,” one agent told me, referring to rival front offices. “They think they (the Pelicans) got F—in idiots in charge. It got so bad, I just felt sorry.” Teams were already jockeying for the privilege to conduct the first trade with the Pelicans as more than one executive jokingly expressed to me that the Pelicans are going to be their first call.

It was the Indiana Pacers that ended up gaining the privilege of being first. When the Pelicans traded the lightly protected 2026 pick from the Pacers for the rights to pick 23 in this draft, rival executives raised their eyebrows. What was the rush to conduct this move while the Pacers were still in the finals? Just hours after Shams broke the trade, the Pacers announced Haliburton has been diagnosed with a calf strain. The optics pointed to a team that had been duped.

All for Queen, basically.
For some reason his name keeps being promoted and I just don't get it

You think Kelly was checked out? You think Kelly was behind the times? Did any of you witness the absolute chaos that was his one year in the NFL?

Meyer is no longer an offensive innovator bringing something special schematically. The game has passed him by. At OSU he became a CEO-recruiter type, which is being phased out of major CFB with NIL and infinite transfers. We just lived that life and look how its ending.
He could have at least had us tread water until next year so that we wouldn't be competing with PSU, UF, et al and a lackluster roster of replacement options.

There are no obvious elite options on the table, currently. The best is Kiffin, who has a ton of issues as the BK replacement.
