Actually it wouldn't be confusing at all, because the mother can only be one thing. A woman. "Legal parent" or "spouse" would work just fine for the other person (spouse being more restrictive since it implies they're married).
The only way what you keep defending works is if you're going to try and tell me men can get pregnant.

the mother can be 2 things.
It can be the pregnant mother or the not pregnant mother
They could have used “pregnant mother” or “inseminated mother” to differentiate the two, but there are parts of the statute where that needs to be differentiated.
because 2 married women who have a kid are both mothers and both spouses.
Wisconsin basically made sure there was no weird loopholes in the law and y’all are very upset about it because fox news told you to be.
