I get what you are trying to say but it doesn't make sense.
I grew up on a farm, I understand how farming works. It makes perfect sense in the framework of "increasing ethanol lowers the price at the pump" (which is the usual response to bringing up Biden's mandated increase of ethanol in gasoline). It's used to underscore the fallacy that using ethanol blends is cheaper at the pumps (it is but the lower energy output means having to fill up more often, thus it costs more once you move beyond just the single purchase).
In other words, if it were truly cheaper (ie: in the full context) then farmers would use it to plant and harvest the very corn used to produce ethanol. The whole statement was to pre-counter a possible "ethanol lowers gas prices" rebuttal.
