Years ago, the Canadians had an opportunity to build a new pipeline named Energy East that would have supplied Eastern Canada and the Maritimes with Albertan oil without entering the US.
The Liberals killed the project.
Shutting off Canadian energy to America means shutting off energy to Ontario and Quebec too.
So congratulations on destroying your own country and ruining whatever leverage you had. I'm sure it made you all feel morally superior at the time though, so maybe it was worth it

Because 70 plus percent of Canada's trade is with the US.
