Why redact names from the Twitter files?

Why are around 30% of the names redacted from the twitter file releases?

I don’t know if this is true but I read that at least some of them are “whistleblowers” who helped the journalists put the story together and they wanted to try and protect them as much as possible.

Probably cuz the point is to expose Twitter and Establishment connection. Not to get millions of people to attack small time individuals which would then be very bad press for Twitter as a bully.
