Also, because most whites think they're guilty. They need for it to be bullshite so that whites and conservatives will argue the contra-BLM stance, so they can claim we're defending white supremacy. It's the same reason Mike Brown, who was guilty and brought it on himself, gets massive attention and the full victim/saint treatment, whereas Eric Garner, who almost everyone sided with and against the police, does not.

They need conservatives arguing the other side so they can build walls. It doesn't quite work if everyone agrees.
