That's because it's not an individual freedom issue. But I'm not sure salesmanship had anything to do with it, nor am I sure it was as big a factor as claimed.

Individual freedom requires a lot of personal responsibility. Those on the left want to be taken care of.

It's also "Biden is old". "Trump is Rude", "Why is everything so expensive"

And stuff like this...

(My point - nobody even thinks about "individual freedom", it's too much of a college level philosophical question most voters don't undertake.
