So I can see why you would have a group message with closeted gay conservatives, even if I find it a bit hilarious.

It's pretty funny and sad. I guess sometimes gays do need a safe space...from other gays.

I asked my brother the psychologist about this. He said lesbians hate alpha males. They are OK with wimpy males.
Me: "But I'm not an alpha male."
Him: "On a football field, no. But in the workplace, yes you are."

He explained that the goal of lesbians in the work environment is to get alpha males removed by any means necessary.

Awesome, brother!

Good info. I figured that's what it was but it's always nice to have verification from a 'professional'. LOL

I guess I'll have to put on my best soy boy persona around dikes from now on.

That's some high praise. Tbird is good people.

It was meant to be. I don't know him personally but as far as around here goes, I like T-bird too.

I’m another of the Gay MAGA voters that has kept that fact under wraps except for a very small group. Most of my friends know I’m Libertarian and so they get pissed when I ask the normal common sense questions, so the tend to not talk politics around me. They were shocked when I told them flat out that I could never vote for “her.”

I think the Republicans could definitely make in roads into the Gay voting block, but I think they could do things for even broader appeal.

Trump’s whole Make America Great Again is really a message of Make Being an American Great Again, and he’s achieving that by putting America and Americans First - that’s the message. He’s doing that by opening economic opportunity to all be killing regulations, lowering taxes and working to restructure trade deals. He could also do that by using the bully pulpit, EOs and pressing Congress to do things that bolster communities that most would think are dedicated to the left.

Decriminalizing marijuana, prison reform for non-violent offenders, take a trip or 2 to Flint, hold some meetings with prominent and street level black officials, etc., would help.

It would take something major to put a chink in the Gay voting block, but Gays should be more natural Libertarian voters, but the socially conservative sector of the Rs has really destroyed that possibility for a while.

Two of the nicest ladies I know are a gay couple who substitute teach at our school. They are both over 60 years old and are old school conservatives. In fact one of them just became the mayor of a small town in our parish and the other serves on the town council. Crazy to think that an old lesbian couple has so much respect in a rural southern town that they would be elected to these positions. Guess people value someone’s core beliefs in government over their sexual preference. You wouldn’t know it to hear the dems talk about people not living on the east and west coast.

So there’s been a shift since May from the 59% of people self identifying as republicans who are opposed ro same sex marriage?

Can we embrace the gays and not all the other ones?

I’ve always found it bizarre that gay men have to hitch their wagon to the same horse as insufferable dykes and the mentally ill trannies.

The gay men i’ve Known have usually been pretty cool. Enjoyable to be about unless they are overly flamboyant like toddaffy, looking to draw attention.

Not much in common at all with the lesbians and the Trannies.

This is all spot on.

Single issue voters are exhausting and frustrating. The Rs today, Trump included, are doing nothing to hurt gays; but, they'd have you believe we are moments away from being rounded up and put in death camps.

Many gays are educated and have higher incomes than their straight counterparts. Many are also small business owners. Economically speaking, my gay friends who are still with her, have no answer to the common sense points I make regarding Trump and the economy.

They have no answer for Trump getting NATO allies to pony up overdue money. They have no answer for Trump playing hardball with China, NOKO, and Iran. They have no answer for making Mexico and Canada and the EU honest on trade again. They have no answer for GDP growth their former savior, Obama, told us we'd never see again. They have no answer for historically low unemployment among minority demographics and women. They have no answer for over 3.2 million jobs being created in less than 18mos. They have no answer for Tax reform that put more money into the pockets of Americans. They have no answer for companies that are re-investing in their American production and training for their employees.

Their only answer is he's racist. One of my friends asked me last night if I think Trump will be assassinated. I said I wouldn't wish that on any American, let alone a sitting President. I asked him what his opinion was on it and he just shrugged. I was floored. The only moment he conceded that would be a bad thing was when I reminded him if Trump is removed from Office for any reason, he's looking at President Pence.

I told him that's incredibly dangerous rhetoric coming from the side of the political spectrum that was so concerned with Trump's "dangerous" rhetoric on the campaign trail. He said no one would buy into that and I reminded him of Rep. Scalise. He conveniently forgot about that one and said it's fine now because he lived. I had literally no words.

Sometimes I'm really astounded by how politicized people can be, and the callous remarks and nature it can bring out in seemingly well-reasoned and educated people.
