Possibly because of a narrative switch. Currently media shows what blind people can see that democrats are vicious about protecting criminals. If you militarized then public perception likely changes

He’s in a mess and trying to figure out how to get the ICE agents out while not appearing to cave to Walz and Frey. This is a no win situation. The Democrats have figured out how to take the immigration issue away from Trump.
