It's a generational thing. My dad is pretty close in age to Trump and carries around a few k in his wallet at all times and rarely uses debit/credit cards.

Trump is old school, almost evertime I'm behind a old person in a checkout line they breakout a wad of cash or a checkbook and if my kids are with me I have to explain to them what a checks are. I bet trump writes checks at Mc Donalds

I agree about people using checks. But there is no way you can use a credit card faster than I can use cash.
I've clocked myself from the ring up to the handover at 0.3 seconds. My change usually comes in 4 seconds.

I am 52. My Dad (late 80s) and most of my older siblings carry wads of cash. It is a generational thing. I do so as well but primarily when traveling.

The argument against cash that I get from younger friends who use cards: 'But you have to go to the ATM a lot.'
I explain to them: 'It's a religious experience. I drive up, give praise to the machine and he gives me money.'
