Ignoring something doesn't solve anything, it just makes people feel better.
It's like 30 years ago when TV networks decided (due to pressure from Jackson) that they couldn't identify the race of a perp of a crime in your neighborhood...only "an unidentified male suspect" even if they were identified.
PC put people at risk.
But you can still say..."the suspect is white and has tattoos be on a look out for him."
It's like we're living in a weird alternate Universe...what's happening on the ground and what the TV is reporting. Polar opposites.
