We should allow Puerto Rico statehood. At least Louisiana won’t be last place anymore.

Well at least for about two years!

Do you think Louisiana will be ranked #50 again in the US News rankings in 2024?

Seems like Louisiana has been at the bottom of reputable QOL rankings ever since I can remember.. and I'm old!

Jesus could come down from the heavens and get elected governor and I still wouldn't bet against Louisiana being 49th or 50th.

I think it's more of a cultural problem than a money problem.

Beaumont is a shithole. But it’s growing and experiencing economic growth.

That’s better than the entire state of Louisiana.... hahaha

No, it’s the career politicians. They get elected, they get laws passed that help those who help them get elected, they get done with government, they get a job with company whom they helped.

And the state of Louisiana has been led by democrats forever....

You drive into orange and Beaumont and immediately need to change your ball joints. Not to mention the multitude of gangs in that area lmao.

I like Texas but Jesus Christ don’t brag to me about the shitty part of it.

I am actually moving to a house I built on my property on Toledo Bend.
Yes, my property taxes will be higher moving to Texas while I will not have to pay state tax. It works out alot better in my situation.

Louisiana always been in last or near the bottom.
It is something you have to accept it you live in Louisiana.

Which is why I don’t live there. My savings on income tax alone are amazing.

Dude. Are you kidding? Maybe as a whole, but orange and Beaumont is like driving in a 3rd world country.

That construction has been going on for 20 years

You're going to have a lot of people tell you we were last anyway as if that's a good reason to keep JBE. These are the same people that say Exxon was going to spend that money in TX anyway. And Albemarle and Smoothie King were going to move their headquarters anyway.

ETA: And a guy whose username is "Sulphursfinest" is going to give you shite about Beaumont.

Any company of reasonable size that's mobile (not a hospital or tied to the state) will eventually leave. CenturyLink will move to Colorado pretty soon.
