Texas and louisiana have the refineries to make the finished product.

If a state has the finished product, energy, food, building materials, they hold the power. The feds may cut off funding, but what do they do when those states cut off supplies?

I think you misunderstood my response.

My point is while some may think Texas could fund their new found freedom with oil, that is not the case. Companies own the oil. They still have to make profits for their shareholders. The price of oil is set on the international market so they still have to sell at that price. Any taxes the new Texas government applies to oil to fund the government comes at the expense of the oil companies/shareholders. The oil companies may decide it's a better financial decision to remain with the US than going with Texas and having their profits cut even more.

I doubt the new government/oil companies would deny selling their products to the largest demand (and cheapest due to transport costs). Much like Venezuela, while you dislike the US, you still sell to them because you need the money.

Corporations own those refineries, not the states. Will the Republican nation of Texas do state run oil refining?

What supplies? Why would Texas block corporations from selling their products? Texas would go broke.
