What's the board's opinion of Sen. Mike Braun (IN-R)?

He's running for governor up here in Indiana, and only heard of him recently. He's up against these Repubs. in the primary:

Brad Chambers - Former commerce secretary and former president of the Indiana Economic Development Corp.

Suzanne Crouch - Indiana's lieutenant governor under Holcomb since 2017

Eric Doden - President of Pago USA, a company that restores buildings in downtown areas; founding partner of Domo Development LLC and Domo Ventures LLC

Curtis Hill - Former Indiana Attorney General (2017-20)

Jamie Reitenour - Mother of five

He's been a NO on Ukraine and Omnibus and similar measures. He seems pretty solid, overall.

What is the deal with this picture? Is this from a movie or something?

Read this 10 page thread from 2020:

He froze in fear because the moment was too big for him. Tucker essentially ended his career as a U.S. Senator after one year.

Maybe he’ll do better as governor.

That was bad for Braun, but his voting recently has been solid. He's to the right of everyone else in the Republican Party, save for maybe one person, iirc.

Like any politician, he's hit and miss.

Mostly he's not bad.

What area of Indiana do you reside in?

I had to live in Indiana way back in the day when the Army voluntold me to be a recruiter there.

I had to spend a lot of time in Jasper and I wouldn't trust anyone that comes from the political class from that town. Jasper had some good German food and one of the best fried chicken joints I've ever eaten at--Chicken Place in Ireland, Indiana.

If you're ever around Jasper, you have to eat and have cold beer at the Chicken Place.

But other than that, the town's power structure was corrupt.

ETA--Man, now I'm craving the frick out of a cold beer, great chicken in a laid back joint like Chicken Place.

I'm down to Braun or Crouch atm, with Chambers following.
Porter county resident here.
