Trump got Hillary syndrome- he thought there was no way he could lose.
That put him behind the 8 ball, but he came on strong with his fraudulent alternate electors scheme to hoodwink Pence into declining to certify the election. And it almost worked too, which I'm sure was a great disappointment to a "patriot" like you.
