Again, he could have "drawn a contrast" to any number of crises the country has gone through. He chose to "draw a contrast" to a crisis that very well may have gotten the two people pictured assassinated.
Kennedy "did nothing" during the Missile Crisis because he refused to drag us into a war. So what happened? He gets killed and the next thing we know we are invading Vietnam.
You guys are missing the forest for the trees, IMO.
