Its not Syria we have to be concerned with, its Russia. Whatever it is will be asymmetrical and most likely done through proxies. Maybe they provide Iran with high level intel. Maybe they help them restart their nuclear program. Maybe they hack our infrastructure and start taking it down, which they've already shown the capability to do

I would be more worried about Iran than Russia, Ruskies have everything to lose if they frick with us. Iran is run by extremists who, while being unhinged, wouldn’t mess with us either.
Only way I’d start shitting my pants is if China got involved along with those two. Even then we have Israel, Saudi Arabia, UK, France, SK, Japan, Turkey(?). They wouldn’t risk it imo.
