VA System

For those of you who have ever used the VA System, you know the condition of the VA under Obama/Biden. If you wore the uniform within the last 19 years, you know how depressing the VA Hospitals and Services were until Trump took over. The 4 previous Administrations didn't give a shite about US Veterans and the care received at those hospitals was criminal. It is totally different today, thanks to Trump. McCain didn't do anything about it, Duckworth didn't do a thing about it, same with any former Military Officer who sits in Congress. It took a Billionaire Businessman who some of this country's "Patriots" are accusing of not caring for the Veterans, to turn it around. Action speaks louder than words.

Amen. Trump has done more in his short politician time than any career politician in decades.

Why is there even a VA system? Why don’t they just pay for veteran’s healthcare at regular hospitals?

They started doing it under Trump, when the old system wasn't timely enough. Before we had Vet waiting to get appointment and would eventually die waiting from those issues. It changed when he took over.

Veterans should be able to go wherever the F they want for healthcare and it shouldn't cost anyone but the taxpayers.

That is what the system today. It wasn't like that under previous administrations. I am fortunate to have two other Medical Insurances, but many have it as their sole source of coverage. The System use to be a bureaucratic nightmare, with rude employees and subpar facilities. Today, if you can not see a VA Doctor within two weeks, they will set up a civilian doctor to see you. They will call you back within 30 min if you leave a message with them and they are more than polite when you visit their facilities. This is solely due to President Trump, so the BS the Dems are spilling out tonight is a disgrace to those who wore the uniform.

All I can say is this. When I was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2009, stage 4, if the VA was my only alternative I would not be responding to the OP tonight. Thankfully I had other alternatives, and was treated by Emory staff and blessed to be here today.

You are truly blessed. There are a lot of Americans without insurance that wouldn't have made it.

You wouldn't have ever seen a doctor under the old system. Obama totally ignored our Vets.

Btw the VA scandal happened on Bernie's watch as Chairman of the Senate Veteran's Affairs Committee.

My sister in-law and brother in-law both have worked at the VA for over 15 years. They complained about it for years. It is much better now than it was 5 to 10 years ago.
A multi billion dollar bill was passed in 2014 that has helped open clinic’s and update most facilities.
