"A stringent "trace, test and treat" measure, vaccination and partial curfews have paid dividends in restricting Covid-19 spread. The positivity rate has slumped to 0.006 per cent, the lowest in the country. Kerala has a test positivity rate of 19.67 per cent."

From the source article that doesn’t mention ivermectin. GP gonna GP.

The Gateway Pundit article linked in the OP is fine for what it is reporting, and cites more than just the India Today article which the OP linked just below the GP article.

For clarity, I'll add them here with a brief synopsis of each:

Hindustan Times
This article, similar to the India Today article, merely reports on the astonishingly low covid rates in Uttar Pradesh, but does not report on reasons.

The Indian Express
This article squarely focuses on the role of ivermectin in public policy response to covid in Uttar Pradesh, and includes quotes by various public officials there which credit ivermectin as an important part of their successful management (arguably eradication) of covid.
The Desert Review
The Gateway Pundit goes on to cite this California based paper that is apparently reporting (based on the title alone) on how most mainstream media is not reporting on the success that India has had with ivermectin use in treating covid. This particular article-- part III in a series (I've not read the first two)-- contrasts the state of Kerala's failures at managing covid in contrast to Uttar Pradesh. There is plenty of good information in the article and it barely goes a couple of sentences without linking another article or other source of information which they are referring to. But perhaps the most relevant takeaway can be summed up in these two parts near the end of the article:
quote:

Uttar Pradesh beats all other states (except Bihar) with the lowest COVID deaths and infections because of early and preventative Ivermectin use IN ALL FAMILY CONTACTS. This is despite Uttar Pradesh having only a 4.9% vaccination rate, one of the five lowest of all states in India. On the other hand, Kerala ranks in the top five most vaccinated states. Kerala has vaccinated 70% citizens 45 years and older, and almost 56% of its population has had at least one shot.

quote:

The lesson?

Ivermectin can make up for the low use of vaccination. However, vaccination cannot make up for the low use of Ivermectin.

Based on these figures alone, it appears that ivermectin alone is superior to the vaccine in actually eradicating covid from the population. I have yet to see valid critiques that point to ivermectin being ineffective... aside from two recent stories (one by Rolling Stone), both of which are effectively retracted at this point. Generally, Fauci, the FDA, WHO, CDC just squirm and say nothing's conclusive.

fwiw, Esquire, I've seen your name plenty, but have never specifically noted if you're always snarky, what your beef with GP is, or if you're just being disingenuous here because you've already picked your side of the vaccination battle and can't stand to see evidence to the contrary without firing back a pithy critique of how the source of your agitation might be lacking in some way. I never read GP myself in the course of my day, but every time someone quotes it here and I check it out, I don't see a problem. That is the case here as well. I suspect you just didn't read the article and are arguing from a position of ignorance in this instance.
